Holding SA Buys Chip Conveyor Manufacturer Turbo Systems, Inc.

4, 2002 Cincinnati, OH - Through its U. S. holding company,
Manufacturing & Automation Solutions, Inc., Nugerol Holding
SA of Switzerland today purchased Turbo Systems, Inc. of Charlotte,
North Carolina. The company also owns the LNS Group including
LNS America, inc., the leading supplier of bar feeding systems
and accessories for CNC turning machines used in metalworking
manufacturing. Turbo Systems holds a similarly commanding position
in the U. S. manufacturing market for metal chip conveying equipment.
According
to Yves Scemama, President of Manufacturing & Automation
Systems, "Our strategic vision is to provide a wealth of
accessory products and services to our manufacturing customers.
Although we are not actively looking for acquisitions, Turbo
Systems presents an exceptional opportunity to expand our capabilities
in a logical way. Chip conveying systems are essential for our
customers and Turbo Systems is the industry leader. Our immediate
goal is to maintain the excellent products and support each
company brings to its customers."
LNS
America, Inc. and Turbo Systems, Inc. will continue to operate
autonomously with separate manufacturing, sales and service
operations. Mr. Scemama remains President of LNS America, Inc.
and Terry Dunn continues as President of Turbo Systems, Inc.
No changes in management or day-to-day operations are planned
for either company.
Thomas
Boehmer, continuing as LNS America, Inc. Chief Financial Officer,
played a key role in the acquisition of Turbo Systems, Inc.
and has assumed the additional responsibility of Manufacturing
& Automation System's CFO.
LNS
America, Inc. is the North American marketing and manufacturing
component of Orvin, Switzerland based LNS SA. Founded in 1973,
LNS SA is the world's leading supplier of bar feeding equipment.
The
North American operation employs 70 with headquarters in Cincinnati,
Ohio and regional managers located throughout the United States.
In addition to bar feeding machines, LNS America markets a complete
line of bar feed accessories including parts loaders and unloaders,
self-centering work support systems, bar chamfering machines
and collet chucks.
Turbo
Systems, Inc. headquarters and two plants are located near Charlotte,
North Carolina, with a European facility in the U.K. The company
provides chip removal and coolant management systems for the
metalworking manufacturing industries. Kemble Widmer and Bob
Heffner who founded Turbo Systems in 1984 are selling the company
to facilitate their retirements. The company employs 150.
